  61.                   Fantasy Football Assistant  version 1996

  63.  NOTE:  Upgrading from a previous version of FFA.
  64.  Version 1996 data files are NOT compatible with versions prior to
  65.  version 1994. If you are updating from a version prior to 1994 in the
  66.  middle of a season, you must manually re-enter team rosters and use
  67.  Win/Loss Maintenance to update team history.
  68.  
  69.  If you are registered and would like to use the old version for the
  70.  rest of the season, then you can copy the FFAREG.DAT file from the new
  71.  version to the directory where FFA is installed. This will at least
  72.  eliminate the signon screen and the delay.
  73.  
  74.  If you upgrading from version 94 or 95, and you wish to retain your
  75.  current data files, then make sure you review League Options and Scoring
  76.  Maintenance to make sure all options are set up correctly. If you were
  77.  using performance scoring method, then you will have to re-enter the
  78.  performance table.  You will also probably need to manually adjust the
  79.  NFL team codes using NFL Team Maintenance since the team codes have
  80.  been changed for some teams from 4 characters to 3, and you will also
  81.  need to manually add Carolina (CAR) and Jacksonville (JAC) if your
  82.  previous version is 94. Refer to the FFA.DOC file for all the standard
  83.  NFL team codes.

  85.  If upgrading from a previous version, then the best thing to do is to
  86.  remove all the files from the previous version (except FFAREG.DAT if
  87.  you are a registered user and FFATEAM.DAT if you are in the middle of
  88.  the season), and then install the new version.

  90.  To print the manual, enter PRINT FFA.DOC and press [ENTER].  The
  91.  manual is structured assuming that the printer will be set at 6 lines
  92.  per inch.  The manual will contain all the instructions for executing
  93.  Fantasy Football Assistant.  The manual is approximately 46 pages long.

  95.  ** Windows Users **
  96.  If you will be running FFA from Windows and you install FFA in a
  97.  directory other than C:\FFA, you will get an error message when you
  98.  click on the FFA icon to execute the program saying that all components
  99.  of FFA were not found. You need to either modify the FFA.PIF file, or
  100.  delete the FFA.PIF file (which will then use the _DEFAULT.PIF file
  101.  in the WINDOWS directory). You can modify FFA.PIF with the PIF editor
  102.  program, found in the MAIN group. Change any reference to C:\FFA to
  103.  the directory where you have installed FFA.
  104.  
  105.  FFAREG.DAT
  106.  This file is on the install diskette and is the key to indicate that
  107.  you have registered Fantasy Football Assistant.  Copy this file to the
  108.  directory where FFA.EXE is installed.  When this file is present, the
  109.  shareware signon screen will be removed along with the delay. You will
  110.  also have access to the Draft Assistant program.  The menu screen will
  111.  show your registration number and name.  If this file is accidentally
  112.  deleted and you don't have a backup, you will have to contact me to get
  113.  another copy of the file.

  115.  Once you register, you will be able to download future versions
  116.  of Fantasy Football Assistant from CompuServe (GO PCFUN - Sports/Chance
  117.  library) without having to register again.  The file name will have a
  118.  format of FFAxx.ZIP (where xx will be the last 2 digits of the version
  119.  #, for example, FFA96.ZIP is version 1996).  You can also get the file
  120.  from America On-Line and the Fantasy Football Information Exchange bbs
  121.  which is in Texas (214-642-9559). This is a compressed file using PKZIP
  122.  version 2.04g or later, and you must have PKUNZIP to decompress the
  123.  file. You can get PKZIP/PKUNZIP from almost any bulletin board. If you
  124.  don't have access to a modem, you can get updates from me for a nominal
  125.  fee.
